FLORIDA MUSIC AWARDS HALL OF FAME 2025 INDUCTEE: PAT TRAVERS

Pat Travers was raised in Canada yet traversed to Florida decades ago where he calls home.

He is a highly notable rock guitarist, keyboardist, and singer-songwriter. He is best known for his instrumental rock guitar style and his hit singles “Boom Boom (Out Go the Lights)” and “Snortin’ Whiskey”. Born on April 12, 1954, in Toronto, Canada, Pat Travers is the son of a jazz musician. He began playing guitar at the age of nine and was influenced by the likes of Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, and Jeff Beck. At the age of 16, Travers moved to London, England, where he formed his first band, Pat Travers Band. The band released their debut album, Makin’ Magic, in 1976. The album featured the hit single “Boom Boom (Out Go the Lights)”, which reached number 25 on the Billboard Hot 100. Travers has released over 20 albums throughout his career, including his most recent, P.T. Power Trio, in 2017.

He has also toured extensively, performing in Europe, Japan, and the United States.

Fellow upcoming Florida Music Awards Hall of Fame inductee Nicko McBrian (Iron Maiden), is a former drummer with the Pat Travers band.
